Important Notice on COVID-19 and Remote Meeting Info
As we navigate through the unprecedented and numerous challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, Intergroup plans to keep you informed of the many actions we need to implement over the coming weeks..
To Our Valued AA Community:
First and foremost, we hope you and your family are doing well given these trying circumstances.
As we go through the next phase of the pandemic we are working carefully to keep the fellowship updated about meeting information. See additional resources below.
We know you have more questions than we have answers for at this time. We are working diligently to develop thoughtful solutions that not only address the health and well-being of our community, but facilitate Intergroup’s mission.
While we work to identify our next steps and evaluate recommendations, some of the actions we have taken include:
- The Bookstore is now open Mon-Friday 10am – 4:00pm. We will continue to practice social distancing, mask wearing and disinfecting surfaces after each customer. If you feel uncomfortable physically coming in the store, consider ordering books and gifts through our Online Bookstore. We are processing online orders daily, shipping within 24 hours.
- We are working hard to determine future dates for upcoming Workshop/Events. We should have more information in the near future. We will keep you posted.
- If you would like to volunteer at Intergroup please call during business hours (Mon-Fri 9am – 4pm) for details. You may also email us at firstname.lastname@example.org . Volunteer needs are cleaning, light office/retail duties and daytime phone coverage.
- Please refer to our Meeting Finder at https://aahouston.org/meetings or the Meeting Guide App for the most accurate updates. Meetings that are now marked as closed will stay “Location Temporarily Closed” until we hear back from the groups. This means that it will be faded and “Location Temporarily Closed” will be in red and on the Meeting Guide App it will be grayed out with slashes through the address. We now have “Online” as a type of meeting which shows “Online Meeting” so if you are having online meetings, and wish for them to be published, you can do that at https://aahouston.org/support-for-aa-groups/meeting-schedule or email us at email@example.com. If there are any special instructions for your meetings (i.e. passwords or meeting outside) a notation will be added in the meeting information section. On the Meeting Guide App, you will have to click the group name to see special instructions. Meetings held in Churches and Hospitals are most likely still Temporarily Closed.
The “Houston Area Remote Meeting Information” PDF below will continue to be updated through the end of May. We’ll revisit keeping list posted longer if needed.
Here’s wishing everyone good health and continued sobriety!
